What is GABA?

So what exactly is GABA? Well, GABA stands for Gamma-aminobutyric acid. It is the chief inhibitory neurotransmitter in the mammalian central nervous system. It helps regulate the nervous system and is directly responsible for the regulation of muscle tone.
